Nabil Fahmy receives Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas
H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received on 16 September His Excellency Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), President of the State of Palestine, at the General Secretariat headquarters. The two sides discussed the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause and the rapidly evolving situation on the ground, as well as the political, humanitarian and security challenges facing the Palestinian people at the present juncture.
Nabil Fahmy denounces attempt to target Makkah Al-Mukarramah, reaffirms League's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia
H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly denounced the attempt to target Makkah Al-Mukarramah with a drone, after the Saudi authorities announced that they had intercepted and destroyed the drone south of Makkah before it entered the restricted airspace over the holy city. He stressed that any threat to the security of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and the sanctity of Islamic holy sites is a matter of grave concern, given the threat such acts pose to the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the safety of its citizens, residents and pilgrims, as well as the provocation they represent to Muslims around the world.
H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy strongly condemns continued attacks on Saudi Arabia, affirms full League support for the Kingdom's security and sovereignty
H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned in the strongest terms the continued attacks targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the resulting injuries and material damage. He described the attacks as an unacceptable violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, as well as a threat to the lives of civilians and to the security and stability of the region.

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, met on 13 September with Mr. Pekka Haavisto, Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Sudan. The two sides held extensive discussions on developments in Sudan and exchanged views on the outcome of the visit to Khartoum this week by the Quintet Mechanism, comprising the League of Arab States, the African Union, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the European Union and the United Nations. They also discussed ways of supporting peace and stability in Sudan.
H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy condemns attack on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia's Riyadh and Madinah
H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly condemned the attack on the East-West Pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by a number of drones launched from Iraqi territory, which resulted in human casualties and material damage. He described the attack as a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a serious threat to its security and stability, and a clear breach of the rules of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, welcomed the United Kingdom’s decision to ban trade in goods produced in illegal Israeli settlements, as well as the stated intention of 12 friendly countries to take similar steps by imposing restrictions on trade in goods originating from settlements established in violation of international law.

H. E. Mr Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned the Iranian attack on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with ballistic missiles, in a flagrant violation of Jordan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a serious threat to the security and stability of the region, warning that the continuation of the growing wave of Iranian escalation against the Gulf States and a number of Arab States threatens to plunge the entire region once again into an open war that would undermine any diplomatic effort aimed at containing the escalation through negotiation.

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy warns of repercussions of latest Houthi escalation for Saudi Arabia’s security and regional stability
H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly condemned the continued escalation by the Houthi militia, including attacks on a number of civilian and economic facilities and sites in cities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in injuries among civilians. He also condemned the militia’s continued targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea and its threats to the freedom of international maritime navigation.

H. E. Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received Mr Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the State of Libya, on the occasion of his participation in the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level. The meeting addressed developments in Libya and the efforts being made to advance the political process, as well as a number of Arab issues of common interest.
